About

In Jeremiah 29:6, God tells his people exiled in Babylon to “seek the welfare of the city” and “pray to the LORD on its behalf, for in its welfare, you will find your welfare.”  That word for “welfare” is the rich Hebrew word shalom, a term that refers to soundness or wholeness.  As we look around at our world, as well as our city, we see brokenness.  Things are not the way they were originally meant to be.  Shalom is a new initiative in Columbia, Missouri that seeks urban restoration, inviting all concerned citizens to join in seeking the welfare of this great city.  For more information, contact Ryan Worley.

"Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?" He said, "The one who showed him mercy." And Jesus said to him, "You go, and do likewise." Luke 10:36-37
